Accommodation
Okonjima Bush Camp
Okonjima Bush Camp is located in a wilderness area approximately 3km from the main camp, and consists of 8 luxury thatched African Chalets.
The camp has an education and research centre, as well as rehabilitation camps for various animals. Okonjima is home to over 40 cheetahs, giving you an opportunity to visit the Africat Project area and accompany the guides as they monitor the progress of these cats in the rehabilitation camp. You will have the chance to learn about what is being done by the foundation to ensure the survival of cheetah and leopard in Namibia.
To ensure complete privacy, the chalets are situated at least 80 meters apart, and the front of the chalets is made of canvas, which can be rolled up at night to allow the cool breeze and the sounds of the Namibian bush into the bungalow.
Apart from the big cats, bird watching is also popular at Okonjima, with more than 300 bird species identified in the area.
Please note: Because of the proximity of lion, leopard and cheetah, children under the age of 12 are not allowed at Okonjima Bush Camp.
