Namibia is situated in southern Africa between the cold south Atlantic coast and the scorching Kalahari Desert. It is named after the 80-million year old Namib Desert which extends along Namibia's entire Atlantic coast.

The thorn bush savannah and rugged mountains of the central plateau give way to the majestic Fish River Canyon in the south. Etosha National Park owes its unique landscape to the Etosha Pan, a vast shallow depression edged by waterholes that guarantee spectacular game viewing.
